From October to April the pool solar cover blanket should be used. The blanket is designed solely to retain the heat already in the swimming pool and not as a heating system. It is not designed to support people or any other weight or for use as a safety cover. The solar blanket must be completely removed from the surface of the pool before entry into the pool. Under no circumstances should anyone swim under the solar blanket.
The electric POOL HEATER, if required during the winter months for our OUTSIDE pool, will normally heat the pool throughout the day to approx 10 degrees F above the outside air temperature, so don't expect miracle temperatures in a cold snap. Like all good heat exchange systems in the U.S. you will find that during winter it may take a couple of days for the pool temperature to fully reach the required heat, up to a maximum of approx 86 degrees F. Fortunately this home is rented pretty continuously and the pool heater stays on most of the time.Unfortunately we cannot control the weather and it is definitely a factor on the warmth of the pool. Remember to put the solar cover on at night to conserve your pool heat.
When the spa timer is turned on, all heat gets directed to the spa – if you want the spa to be as warm as it can get, turn the timer on for about 10 minutes before entering it.The spa does not get any warmer than the pool – tops 90 degrees.
